Masters of Senses
The Masters of Senses series is an immersive and multisensory curated experience designed to excite, delight and ignite your senses featuring celebrated local and national chefs, and the very best of West Australian produce.
Over the next twelve months, West Australians will receive a series of cooking demonstrations, classes, masterclasses and intimate dining events all based on the five senses of touch, sight, sound, smell and taste.
The Masters of Senses will provide inspiration for guests, making everyday life more enjoyable in the kitchen, and evoking what the Winning Appliances and WA Good Food Guide stand for - innovation, experience, style and service.

Master of Texture
presented by chef Richard Overbye
The Masters of Senses cooking demonstration series for 2023 launched with Master of Texture, chef Richard Overbye at the Winning Appliances showroom in O'Connor.
Hosted by Caroline Taylor, the evening took guests on an immersive and multisensory culinary journey as Richard prepared various seafood-led dishes, showcasing his passion and prowess in this area.
Menu highlights included a spinach fritter with broad bean and the Leeuwin Coast Akoya, hemp seed porridge with Shark Bay crab, tomato and courgette and an incredible kohlrabi, parsely and seaweed dish.
Master of Taste
presented by chef Danielle Alvarez
In the midst of a whirlwind national book launch tour, the inimitable Danielle Alvarez visited the Winning Appliances demonstration kitchen in O'Connor for a Master of Senses experience with Miele Australia.
The Master of Taste graced guests with her unmistakeable cooking stye, inspired by some of WA's very best produce including the Leeuwin Coast Akoya and Skull Island Tiger Prawns.
Master of Aroma

A pioneer of the food realm, chef Will Meyrick launched our 2022 Masters of Senses cooking demonstration series as the Master of Aroma.
A Q&A on Australian native ingredients and indigenous senses with the phenomenal Dale Tilbrook and WAGFG Director Georgia Moore was a highlight of the evening, celebrating spices, scents and sounds of Southeast Asian cooking.
Master of Taste
presented by chef Paul Carmichael
Born in Barbados, trained in America, schooled in kitchens such as wd~50 and Momofuku’s Má Pêche, then settled in Sydney, Paul Carmichael has, during his time overseeing Momofuku Seiobo, made himself into the world’s foremost proponent of modern Caribbean cooking.
The Master of Taste, chef Paul Carmichael took to the Winning Appliances kitchen for a sensory overload as part of our Masters of Senses series. Bold and exuberant flavours of Caribbean cuisine took centre stage at this demonstration which was a true showcase of Carmichaels' culinary prowess.
Master of Texture
presented by chef Matt Stone
Margaret River-born Matt Stone has gone on to become one of Australia’s leading sustainable chefs. Forming an early connection with restaurateur and sustainability champion Joost Bakker, Stone has collaborated on several projects with an environmental angle, from hyper-local Greenhouse Perth to zero-waste Silo (once Brothl) in Melbourne.
A sensational evening with Matt Stone, showcased exceptional and sustainable WA produce at Winning Appliances.
